High school Athletes of the Week

Kameron Law

Morgantown High senior forward Kameron Law helped guide the second-ranked Mohigans to two more victories by averaging 16.5 points on the week. Against cross-town rival University High, Law scored 19 points and added 14 rebounds.

Morgantown High junior guard Joanna Joseph had her best week of the season in helping the third-ranked Mohigans to two victories. Joseph averaged 18 points on the week. In a 72-52 victory over Parkersburg South, Joseph scored 21 points.

Boys' basketball

* University High's Charles Cyphert scored 18 points and freshman Jedd Gyorko added 17 in a loss to Morgantown.

* Morgantown's Tyler Benson averaged 14 points on the week.

* Trinity's Danny Webster scored 19 in a 75-52 win over Union-Grant.

Girls' basketball

* Morgantown's Keri Pryor averaged 15 points on the week.

* University High's Angela Scotchel averaged 16 points for the fourth-ranked Hawks in two wins, while teammate Lauren Riggs averaged 13.

Swimming

* Morgantown High freshman Maggie Moreland won NCAC titles in the 200-yard butterfly and the 100 butterfly, setting met records in both. Teammate Kenley Jackson won the 200 individual medley and the 100 backstroke, while Morgan Cira won the 500 freestyle .
