Mohigan Journal- April 12
by Johnny Mohigan

Kameron Law came up big for the AAA All-stars at the Scott Brown Classic
over the weekend. His 9 points and 7 rebounds (In limited time) was not
enough though, as the AA-A Allstars defeated his team 118-114. Kameron
played 11 minutes, even though he just had knee surgery a few days earlier.
Ben Torsney added 4 points in limted amount of playing time. Ben was a late
addition for Tyler Benson, who could not make the trip because of his AAU
commitment in Washington, D.C. This marks the first time since 1993, when
Nathan Smith played in the game that a Mohigan was invited to play. We hope
to have a player or two in the North-South game which comes up in June.
Tyler Benson and Marlan Robinson are playing AAU with the East Coast AAU
team. This team located in Roanoke is a great opportunity for them to be
scouted by potential college coaches. Speaking of college coaches, Tyler,
Kameron and Ben should be making a decision in the next few weeks about
their college plans. We will keep you updated. Drew Holt and Tyler Jones are
planning on staying in Morgantown and going to WVU. We are certainly proud
of all our seniors.
Next weekend is the big 5th-7th grade tournament known as the Mountaineer
Shootout. It will be held at MHS, starting at 10:00 am on Saturday. There
will be 29 games played over the two day period. This would be a great way
to see some of the rising talent in the Mohigan Basketball program. Come out
and see... and Go Mohigans!
