MHS freshmen defeat UHS, 56-51

Freshman Boys
    The Mohigan’s freshmen boys team put down UHS 56-51. Tyrell Rembert had 13 points while Jay Fletcher scored 14 and Anthony Schifano racked up 15 points for MHS. The Hawk’s Roger Jefferies led his team with 19.
Freshman Girls
    Emily Gallagher scored 21 points and Stephanie VanKirk picked up 10 to lead UHS (11-2) to a 54-36 victory over MHS. Morgantown’s Derica Fletcher was the Mohigans leading scorer with 10.
    Trinity (3-10) fell to Clarksburg Liberty, 43-32. Trinity’s leading scorers were Natalie Gordon with 8 and Ashleigh Davis with 7.
    Hundred beat Notre Dame 73-44. Hundred’s leading scorer was Felicia Kimble with 19 followed by Shaina Kuhn with 13 points. Notre Dame’s Mallory Menendez had 21 while Whitney Martino scored 7.
Middle School
    The St. Francis eighth-graders won against Barrackville 48-35. Kara Seamon led with 15 points and 7 assists. St. Francis’ Angela Raymond had 11 rebounds.
    Miller eight-graders edged past Westwood 32-30. Kyle Rakes was Millers top scorer with 9 while Westwood’s Josh Gunnoe had 12.
    Miller seventh-graders also topped Westwood, 36-23. Logan Moore and Aaron Fetty led the team with 9 points each. Westwood’s Steve Bohon had 10.
    South Middle School seventhgraders fell to East Fairmont 51-40. East Fairmont’s Matt Perrello scored 20. Jordan Barnett was South’s top scorer with 14, followed by Sam Runner with 10.
    South Middle School eighthgraders beat East Fairmont 46-36. Justin Tichenor led South with 14 points followed by Blake Antonini with 12.
    Cheat Lake Middle seventhgraders won against Mannington 44-17. Lucas Henn had 8 points for CLMS. Eric Earl was Mannington’s top scorer with 4.
    Mannington eighth-graders beat Cheat Lake Middle 45-43. Justin Cain was Mannington’s top scorer with 15. Cole Mertins had 21 points for CLMS.
