Morgantown 97, Elkins 52
Craig Carey scored a career-high 15 points as Morgantown High overwhelmed NCAC rival Elkins at the MHS gymnasium.
J.T. Lewis finished with 14 points, Zach Cooke scored 11 and Cameron Taylor and Tyrell Rembert added 10 apiece.
“We had nice balance,” said MHS coach Tom Yester, who watched 12 of his 13 players score. “We had 11 turnovers, which is pretty good when you consider how many guys scored.
“It was a nice, consistent ball game. Our defense was kind of smothering them. They’re struggling right now, and we’re playing fairly well.”
Lewis led the Mohigans (14-6) with seven rebounds. Cooke grabbed six boards. MHS returns to action tonight, hosting Buckhannon-Upshur on Senior Night.
