Law leads MHS over Huskies

Zach Cooke and Taylor Dunn each connected on two 3-pointers and Elliott Law led the way with 14 points to lead the Morgantown High boys’ basketball team to a 54-32 victory Tuesday night in its home opener.
Dunn finished with 11 points and Cooke had eight for the Mohigans (3-3), which travel to Parkersburg South on Thursday.
MHS had six 3-pointers in all and survived the slower tempo forced on them by the Huskies (3-4). MHS led, 22-11, at halftime, but came out in the second half to outscore North Marion, 32-21. J.T. Lewis added 11 rebounds for the Mohigans.
Liberty 66, Trinity 65
CLARKSBURG — Devin Franz made his final three points of the game count. Franz hit a 3-pointer at the buzzer to give Liberty Harrison a victory over the Warriors. Franz finished with a game-high 23 points. Travis O’Neil countered with 21 points for Trinity (4-2), while teammates Racy Ward and Jaonathan Failinger each added 12. Trinity will host Bishop Donahue next Tuesday.
Clay-Battelle 54, Hundred 51
HUNDRED — Tyler Barnette scored 18 points and the Cee-Bees withstood a furious rally by Hundred to hold on to a victory. Barnette connected on two 3-pointers, while teammate Travis Holmes added 11. Hundred trailed, 49-36, heading into the final quarter, but outscored C-B (3-4), 16-5, in the final quarter.

Freshman boys
Morgantown High defeated North Marion, 65-36, behind 18 points from Jeff Alllen and 16 points from Jordan Barnett. The Mohiganns remained undefeated at 5-0.

Lucas Henn scored 10 points to lead UHS (3-3). Fairmont Senior was led by Logan Moore’s 18 points and Ty Garrison scored 17.
