JACK JOHNS

VOICE OF THE MOHIGANS

Morgantown High Football fans follow the action easier thanks to this familiar voice. A 1956 graduate of MHS, Jack formally did play by play anouncing for the MHS basketball team. Mr. Johns recently retired after 17 seasons with the WVU Women's basketball team, and 13 years as interior Press Box announcer at Mountaineer Field. He continues to handle MHS Football and has completed over 30 years as color commentator for the MHS Band.

In 1966 Jack was honored with the Proficiency Award by the Morgantown Touchdown Club for his excellence in the field of athletics and good sportsmanship.

Mr. John's wife, Barbara, is a retired former secretary at MHS. Their children-Brian, a Fairmont State graduate in English and Business Administration, and Beverly, a WVU School of Pharmacy graduate- attended MHS.

Morgantown High School thanks Mr. Johns for the volunteer time he donates to his Alma Mater.
