Mohigan Journal Dec. 15, 2002

The Varsity scrimmage didn't go well yesterday as the varsity is
down 4 of its top 7 players and there were times when we didn't have
a guard on the floor. Geremy is still not ready, Tim has an injury
in his shin, Seth reinjured his shoulder and Dan will be out for
some time. We will have to piece together a team in the mean time.
Coach Yester is the expert with this and hopefully we can get a
win or two this week. Geremy should be ready to practice at 75% this
week and Seth should be at about 75%. Tim has healed and we will
have most of our team back by the end of the week. Every team goes
through this over time. The good ones make it through and keep right
on winning. It will be a big challenge for us to do this. George
Washington won the Varsity scrimmage by a score of 76-70.

The JV's won 87-50. Their scrimage once a gain saw a mixture of great
passing and play making. Their defense stiffened as the game went
on. This group is not known for its defense and it is great to see
them play some defense.George Washington had many of their better
underclassmen on the Varsity, so it wasn't a true test for our JV
team.

The Freshman team open their home schedule on Monday as they host
undefeated Bridgeport. The Indians will supply some stiff competition
as they are 6'5, 6'4 and 6'3 across the front line. Our 9th graders
opened with a 80-30 win last week at Elkins. This looks to be one
of the finest groups we have ever had and should be fun to watch.

The locker room has hit a pause as we wait for the maintainence crew
to take the wax off the floor. Mr. Williams installed the stereo
over the weekend and it is awesome. Mr. Hall said he will start as
soon as we are ready for the carpet. We will have a great place for
our team to hang out. If anyone has a donation, please contact Swifty

Speaking of Swifty, Sherran, his wife fell and broke her ankle last
week and will be slowed for a while. Before the lastest mishap she was her old self, running everywhere and doing things for other people.
