MOHIGAN JOURNAL

It was great week for Mohigan Basketball as we defeated the number
ten and twelve teams in the state. North Marion, which won the summer
league this past summer, looked to be the best team in the area at
the beginning of the season. I believe they will contend for the
NCAC championship by the end of the season and win between 15 and
20 games. Our defense was the difference and that seems to be what
this team is hanging its hat on. We want to make other teams not
play well and have a hard time running their offense. Our opponent
shooting percentage must be near 35% for the season and we are forcing
nearly 18 turnovers a game. This team is rounding into shape and
playing better than I expected for this early in the season, having
so many football players. Hopefully it will get better and we can
extend our current 5 game winning streak.
We play John Marshall on Friday evening at the MAC. They have one
of the finest programs in the state and we we are glad to finally
have them on our schedule. Coach Storm hails from Moundsville and
has obviously had a terrific background as his high school coaches
have really taught him well. There system is very similar to ours,
which will make for an interesting evening.
The JV team has run its record to 5-0. They are showing great team
work and every night a different guy steps up. It is helping to have
the juniors log some minutes, like our opponents do. With them giving
us some size and strength, we are going to be tough to beat. John
Marshall will be our toughest test of the year as they bring in an
undefeated team.
A reminder to the parents that the raffle tickets are due by the
end of the weekend. The locker room project is complete and you are
welcome to come and inspect the fine work that has transformed our
locker room in to one of the finest facilities, anywhere.

Until next time.... Go Mohigans!
