MORGANTOWN VARSITY ROUTS MONARCHS

The Mohigans took their road show back on the road on Thursday evening and defeated John Marshall by a score 64-41. The Monarch rendition of the Rowdy Society were out in full force but did not rattle the Mohigans as they held John Marshall to 20 points below their season average. ÒThe defense was excellent and any time you can hold Hayes to 17 points, youÕve done a good job,Ó said Coach Yester. Hayes has a season average of nearly 30 points per game and Carlton Drake was responsible for him for a large portion of the game. ÒFor the most part Carlton did a nice job on him. Once Keffer backed off a little, he did a much better job on him as well,Ó added Yester. Jordan Barnett led the team in scoring with 17 points including 4-6 from three point range. ÒJordan is shooting very well, now we need to get the others going.Ó Ryan Parsons added 11 points and Sam Runner 10 points. ÒAll of our big guys had at least 6 rebounds and we dominated the boards.Ó Drake added 6 assists as well.

MHS is off to Martinsburg for a 7:30 game on Saturday evening. You can hear the game on mohiganradio.
