HUGE WIN FOR MOHIGANS IN THE PANHANDLE

The Mohigan Boys basketball team went to Martinsburg and upset the 7th rated Bulldogs by a score of 50-40. It was MartinsburgÕs 2nd loss in 32 games and gives Morgantown two wins in a row at the Martinsburg Fieldhouse. It was the second game in a row that MHS held their opponent to 40 points. Trailing by 9 with 3 minutes to go in the 3rd quarter MHS got hot as Taylor Price took over. The 6Õ5 junior scored 6 consecutive points and the Mohigans caught fire. From there, Jordan Barnett and Ryan Parsons took over at the foul line as MHS converted 20-22 free throws on the evening. Most of them coming in the fourth quarter. MHS played without first team all-state candidate, Sam Runner who played sparingly due to illness. ÒTo win without Sam will give these guys a real confidence boost and take some of the pressure off of Sam to try and do too much,Ó said an elated Coach Yester. ÒThis certainly is a signature win for us.Ó Jordan Barnett led MHS with 17 points followed by Parsons and Price with 12 each. Morgantown will travel to East Fairmont on Wednesday evening.
