MOHIGAN VARSITY ON BIG ROLL The Mohigan Varsity has been on quite a run over the last few weeks. They have beaten the following teams who have a combined 77-15 record, minus their loss to MHS. The list includes Marion Franklin from Columbus as well as Martinsburg, Logan, West Fairmont, Preston, John Marshall and Elkins. This team seems poised for a post season run and is many peopleÕs favorite to win the state championship. ÒI think the state is wide open and anyone of about 10 teams could win it all,Ó said a local coach. Certainly, the region in which MHS plays in, is loaded. Four teams in this region are rated in the top 8 of WV. Preston is rated 3rd, Wheeling Park is 4th, MHS is 5th and Fairmont West is 8th. For up to date rankings, visit wvtailgatecentral.com. The Mohigans will host North Marion on Wednesday night and Elkins on Saturday. Tuesday evening, the game with University from last Friday will be aired on Comcast channel 3.

MOHIGAN JV WINS AGAIN, RECORD 12-1 During the past week, the Mohigan JV team won both games. They defeated University by a score of 45-41 and Elkins by a score of 72-43. We will have a more complete update after WednesdayÕs game. |

7th and 8th GRADE MYBO TO BEGIN IN APRIL The Morgantown Youth Basketball Organization will begin play and practice during the week of April 13th. It will be a 10 week program with two practices a week and teams will be entered in tournaments based on participation. The 7th grade will be coached by former Mohigan players and Coach Yester, Crouso and White. MYBO hires these Morgantown High coaches to work with our players. ItÕs a great way for kids to get to know the high school coaches. More information will come out at a later time. In the mean time, teams are forming for March Madness and the Mountaineer Shootout. |
