SOUTH TURNS TABLES ON SUNCREST In the battle of future Mohigans, South evened the season series with a 34-29 victory over the Seals last night at the Corral. Jeff Leftridge and Shaun Carden led the Stallions in scoring with 14 points each. Andy Vac had 10 points to lead Suncrest. South Coach Bill Hines however credited Deshon Gibson for his scrappy play in the victory. ÒDeshon was very active tonight and got his hands on a lot of loose balls.Ó Said Hines. ÒOur rebounding and defense has gotten better and was the key to the victory.Ó South has a record of 8-6 and will play Westwood tonight. Suncrest will host Cheat Lake this evening. The Mon County Middle School tournament will begin on Saturday morning at University High. |

MIDDLE SCHOOL TEAMS TO RECOGNIZED AT MHS VARSITY GAME NEXT THURSDAY Morgantown High would like to invite all 6th, 7th and 8th grade players at South St. Francis and Suncrest to the games next Thursday against West Fairmont. Players are admitted free and asked to sit across from the visiting bench on the home side bleachers. Each player will receive a free Mohigan Basketball jersey.

7TH AND 8TH GRADE TOURNAMENT SET The Mon County 7th and 8th grade tournament is set for tomorrow and Monday at University High. The 7th grade games will start at 8:30 A.M. with #1 Suncrest playing #4 Westwood. Then at 10:00 #2 Cheat Lake will play #3 South. In the 8th grade bracket #1 Cheat Lake will face #4 Suncrest at 11:30 and #2 Westwood will play #3 South at 1:00. The winners will meet on Monday. |

CHEAT LAKE DEFEATS SUNCREST The late season woes continued for Suncrest on Thursday night as they lost to Cheat Lake by a score of 43-31 in 8th grade action. Logan Hatch led the Seals with 10 points while Andy Vac added 8 points and Scott Core 6 points.
In the 7th grade game the Suncrest 7th grade lost a close one to the Sharks by a score of 41-40. The leading scorer for Suncrest was Michael Keller with 15 points. Thomas Selby added 11 points and Denver Goldsmith 10.
Both teams will begin tournament play tomorrow at University High. |

SOUTH CLOSES SEASON WITH WESTWOOD The 8th grade lost by a score of 37-36 last night to the Wariors and was led in scoring by Jeff Leftridge with 12 points. The 7th grade won by a score of 54-37 and was led in scoring with 24 points. No other information is available at this time. |
