Freshman boys Morgantown 49, Fairmont Senior 38
MHS wrapped up a 16-0 season with a victory over Fairmont Senior. Taylor Price paced MHS with 12 points. Ben Blemings scored 11 points, and Andrew Blaney added 10.

JV boys Morgantown 100, Elkins 35 2/13/08
Morgantown improved to 17-0 as Jordan Barnett led the scoring with 23, while teammate Nathen Columbo added 19. Cory Devall had 12 for Elkins.

Shorthanded Freshman win at Preston and West Fairmont 2/6/08
Despite shooting just 27% and having players out, the 9th grade team found a way to win at Preston (12-2) on Monday night. Evan Berryhill had ten points, seven rebounds and three assists to lead the way. Morgantown jumped out to a 10-1 score and the Knights got no closer than six points the rest of the way in the defensive struggle. Andrew Blaney added eight points, Taylor Price had five points and eight rebounds and Jared Adrian added five points and five rebounds to the cause. In their game with West Fairmont it took overtime to record a 47-42 victory on the road. Taylor Price and Andrew Blaney had double figures for the Mohigans who play their next home game against East Fairmont on Saturday at 1:30.

Taylor Price scored 16 points and Michael Keffer added seven for the Mohigans (9-0). MHS returns to action Tuesday at Buckhannon-Upshur.

Freshman Michael Eby poured in 21 points while Taylor Price and Ben Blemings scored 11 apiece in Morgantown’s romp over John Marshall. 1/5/07

1/18/08 Freshman boys Morgantown 53, University 35
Taylor Price scored 11 and Jared Adrian added nine for the Mohigans (7-0). Kyle Favro had nine and Arthur Spirou eight for University (9-2).

1/17/08 Morgantown 54, East Fairmont 48
Ben Blemings and Taylor Price each scored nine for the Mohigans. Price also had 10 rebounds.

Luke Meador scored 12 points to lead the Mohigans. Sam Runner, Jordan Barnett and Taylor Simmons each scored 11 for MHS. Jacob Beha led all scorers with 16 points for Parkersburg South.

CROUSO STARTS MHS CAREER 4-0
The 9th grade team moved its record to 4-0 with a resounding 82-8 victory over a completely outmanned Elkins Tiger team. Carlton Drake continues to show his marked improvement with a 14 point 6 steal effort. TJ Elchuck added 10 points and a host of Mohigans added 9 and 8 points. Jared Adrian had 8 rebounds. MHS will be off until after the holiday break.

JV’S TAKE OUT EAST
The Mohigan JV team easily defeated East Fairmont on Wednesday night at Morgantown High. Jumping out to a 35-17 halftime lead,  followed by a 26-13 third quarter spelled doom for the Bees. Nathan Colombo led the attack with 13 points and 8 rebounds followed by Sam Runner with 11 points and a thunder dunk. Mike Bloom had 10 points and 5 assists and Anthony Vecchio added 7 points and 4 assists for the Mohigan point guards. Jordan Barnette and Ryan Parsons had 9 points and Chase Wilson added 8 points. MHS will travel to play Parkersburg South next Thursday afternoon.

MOHIGAN FROSH TAKE OUT BU, 80-25
The Mohigan Freshman team beat Buckhannon on Tuesday night at the MAC by a score of 80-24. Leading the way for the Mohigans was Taylor Price with 15 points and TJ Elchuck with 14 points. Mike Eby had 8 points and 10 rebounds to add to the cause. Alex Watson had 8 points and 6 assists. Carlton Drake had 8 deflections. MHS will host Elkins on Thursday evening.

Freshman boys’ basketball Morgantown 66, North Marion 31
    RACHEL — FROSH USE DEPTH TO HANDLE NORTH The MHS Freshman team stayed unbeaten with a 66-31victory over the North Marion Huskies in Rachel, last night. TJ Elchuck and Taylor Price led the scoring with ten points a piece. Jared Adrian had eight points and ten rebounds off the bench. Carlton Drake added six points and eight steals. MHS will host east Fairmont on Thursday evening at the MAC.

Freshman boys’ basketball Morgantown 64, Wheeling Park 41
   The Morgantown High Freshman Boys team defeated Wheeling Park on Monday night in their season opener. Taylor Price led the team with fourteen points and Jared Adrian added ten points and seven rebounds. Evan Berryhill had eight points and five steals, while Carlton Drake led the team with 6 deflections, four steals and four rebounds. Ben Blemings added six points, seven rebounds and three blocks to the cause. MHS will travel to North Marion Tuesday night and host East Fairmont on Thursday evening.

JV’S 82 vs PRESTON 49
The Mohigan JV team opened the season with an impressive 82-49 victory over the Preston Knights last night at the MAC. “Our defenses took Preston out of what they wanted to do,” said Coach Hoffman. “Everybody had played hard and with ten players that can play, without a drop off, we wore them down. We did have some confusion at times and we will work on that.”
Luke Meador led the team with 16 points and Jordan Barnett had 13 points. Ryan Parsons added 13 points and 9 rebounds, and Taylor Simmons had 9 points. Jeff Allen added 7 points and 4 assists.
