Retired Coach Tom Yester

Coach Tom Yester coach over 40 years. He is considered by many as the best teacher of the game in the area and always prepared his teams for great late season finishes. His career began at Rowlesburg High School, then he moved to University High where he served as head basketball coach for 9 seasons. Tom was the coach of the Mohigans 30+ years. He has taken fiftteen MHS teams to the state tournament (1986, 1987, 1990, 1993, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014). He was selected many times as NCAC and The Dominion Post Coach of the Year.

A graduate of Terra Alta High School, Tom graduated from West Virginia University with a bachelors and masters degree. Tom retired from teaching in 2009 and from coaching in 2014.
